Pickling isn’t just for pickles! As the fall harvest comes in are you finding yourself with way too many vegetables? Quiches, pasta, salads, steamed, fried, stir fried, even raw is just too much! Well pickling is a quick and easy answer for your abundance of veggies. 

Did you know you could pickle just about any vegetable? Solo or mixed, vegetables like squash, tomatoes, peppers,  zucchinis,  eggplants, cauliflower, beans, and yes, even cucumbers can all be pickled.

The Secret Spice Mix

Secret Spice Mix

Here’s a great New Years suggestion. Use this spice mix as your secret stash to amp-up your yogurt, veggies, plain grains or proteins. Just combine the spices, cover and store for up to one month.

Secret Spice Mix
1 tablespoon dried rose petals, finely ground (optional)
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground coriander
¼ teaspoon turmeric
¼ teaspoon sumac
¼ teaspoon ground cardamom
¼ teaspoon freshly ground black peppercorn
⅛ teaspoon ground clove
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
